In operation since July 2002, the owner and staff of Little People’s Place of Avella take pride in providing quality child care in a small, rural setting.  Our facility is organized in an open space design to create a sense of home and family for children in attendance, as well as insure excellent supervision and support for staff persons.  The new addition of our “classroom” allows our preschool children to receive quality instruction.  Included in our facility is a wooded and well equipped outdoor, fenced play yard  designed to accommodate outdoor play for even our youngest children.

Located on Route 50 in Independence Township, we provide care for families of Avella, Bethany, Wellsburg and surrounding areas.  Our program is designed for the development of children from birth through school age.

We are proud of our colorful infant and toddler room.  Well-equipped and staffed by qualified, experienced, and long-time employees, our infant program caters to the individual need of babies and their families.  Our young learners are provided with opportunities to develop physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively.  Language development is encouraged early through the use of music, books and sign language.  All the while, babies are given affection and attention to create a sense of love and security.

Our Preschool Program boasts an outstanding curriculum designed to prepare our children for the challenges of Kindergarten.  We are currently applying for approval of our preschool through the Department of Education of Pennsylvania.  For sample curriculum and calendars please see appropriate age levels for Little People’s Place.

Finally, we provide before and after school age care for siblings of our younger children.  Transportation to and from Avella Elementary is provided by Avella Elementary School.

The Center operates from 6:30 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  We provide daily care for one and up to five days a week.  Care may be contracted for 2 ½ to 10 hours a day.  We strive to accommodate the unusual schedules of today’s parent.
